Molecular distillation is a type of short-path vacuum distillation, characterized by an extremely low vacuum pressure, 0.01 torr or below. It’s considered as the safest mode of separation and to purify the thermally unstable molecules and related compounds with low volatility and elevated boiling point.
Molecular distillation process has the advantages of avoiding the problem of toxicity that occurs in techniques that use solvents as the separating agent, and also of minimizing losses due to thermal decomposition. and can be used in a continuous feed process to harvest distillate without having to break vacuum.
So TOPTION molecular distillation plant is widely used industrially for purification of oils (plant oil, fish oil, ec), enrich borage oil in γ-linolenic acid (GLA) and also to recover tocopherols from deodorizer distillate of soybean oil (DDSO).

During molecular distillation process, light molecules escape from the heating surface, reach the condenser and
be condensed as liquid, then along the condenser tube shed, through the evaporator discharge tube out, which
is located at the bottom of evaporator. Residual liquid also is the heavier molecules are collected under the
heating area of circular channels, again through the side of the discharge tube outflow.
